Snapper
Snapper reads the directory of a disk which is then saved as a "snapshot", so that later you can compare it with anew snapshot of the disk and see what has changed...Snapshots don't have to be created from the same source - you can compare a CD-ROM with a server volume, a Zip disk with your hard-disk,or compare two different diskettes (without the need for two diskette drives)... And two snapshots don't need to be created from the same starting directory,just tell Snapper where the "root" of the comparison should begin...
